One of the country’s leading manufacturers of steel site accommodation units and modular buildings has opened a new production facility following a huge rise in demand and a £1.3m investment programme.
Nottingham’s Danzer Limited, opened the new steel production unit last week at its Langley Mill site and has also recruited a new Production Manager, Shaun Thomas, to oversee the expansion in production business.
It is anticipated that the new facility will deliver a 50% increase in productivity in steel manufacture, delivering an additional £2m of revenue.
Commenting on the new facility Danzer Director, Helen Scott, said: “Steel sales are really strong and we were struggling to meet client demand with just our existing plant. We have certainly benefitted from the surge in requirement from house builders as confidence returns to the residential property market.
"Another growth area for our business is in modular classrooms for schools and colleges as pressure continues to be placed on the education sector to replace outdated facilities and accommodate a growing population.”
She continues: “We have also restructured the senior team and recruited Shaun to oversee our production operation which will enable my fellow Directors and founding family members, Bill and Dan Holloway, to focus more actively on sales and customer service.”
The new steel plant includes an overhead crane, gas-piping system, welding equipment, spray painting facilities with full extraction and air filter systems.
As part of the overall investment programme sister company AV Group is also undertaking a refurbishment programme for its 4000-strong fleet of hire accommodation units which are manufactured by the Danzer team in Nottingham. AV Group provides on-site accommodation to construction clients including BAM UK, Wates, McLaren, Grahams, Skanska and Eric Wright Group amongst many others.
The swift growth surge has also come from house builders such as Barratt, David Wilson Homes, Taylor Wimpey and Radleigh Homes who use the firm’s steel anti-vandal cabins on development sites across the country.
