Ecobuild 2014 is the launch pad for a new app from Crown Paints, which can help the way specifers approach the subject of colour choice.

The paint manufacturer has already earned an industry-wide reputation for top quality service and a unique personal approach.

Now it is launching a free service to underline its status as the perfect partner for specifiers.

The MyRoomPainter app is an online tool designed to enhance the specification of Crown’s paint and wood protection products - enabling clients to see precisely how rooms will look in any particular colour.

The innovative app, to be unveiled for the first time at Crown Paints’ stand at Ecobuild, also contains a colour-matching tool, a handy paint calculator and an inspirational media library.

Projects can be saved and shared online too, giving clients the chance to discuss ideas with colleagues ahead of final specification.

Debbie Orr, Crown Paints’ Marketing Manager, said: “MyRoomPainter is set to be a helpful tool to aid the way professionals approach colour.

“By using the app, specifiers can take pictures of a room and show clients exactly how a finished project will look in whatever shade is chosen.
“It’s instant colour scheming on the job and, alongside other tools such as the paint calculator and colour-matching tool, we think it will prove an invaluable asset in our bid to provide the best possible support to those in the industry.”

The app will be available soon to download free of charge for smartphone or tablet from the App Store or Google Play.

At Ecobuild, specifiers can also learn how they can enhance their selection of Crown Paints’ products with the powerful online resource, PaintSpec Finder.

Available at www.crownpaintspec.co.uk the facility delivers instant and technically-detailed specification plans for exterior and interior projects, through a user-friendly format that allows the user to filter through a great deal of technical information to pinpoint exactly what products - from the specification brands of Crown Trade, Sadolin and Sandtex Trade - they need for their chosen projects.

PaintSpec Finder then pulls together the specifications into a report, with a personalised cover sheet showing the customer’s name, the project and the user’s own details, which is then all ready for specifiers to hand to their client or add to their tender or reference documents.

Ecobuild 2014, the world’s leading event for sustainable design, construction, energy and the built environment, takes place at the ExCel Centre in London from March 4-6.
