This year, eight female chefs in the UK received coveted Michelin stars, up from only two a decade ago.

To enable the growing number of high-profile women in the hospitality industry to benefit from the style, prestige and quality of its kitchenwear, premium brand Bragard, part of the Kwintet group, has launched a new deluxe jacket for female chefs - The Grand Chef Lady.

The jacket, created specifically for female chefs, is part of the exclusive Grand Chef range produced by Bragard. A favourite of top-flight chefs worldwide, The Grand Chef was first developed in 1976 with the help of celebrated French culinary master, Paul Bocuse, for chefs in the public eye keen to reflect the quality of their restaurant in their uniform. With their high-quality, brushed cotton outer shell and handmade fabric buttons, the jackets are chic yet practical, while additional air vents enhance breathability to keep wearers cool, comfortable and smart in hot kitchens.

Charlie Pogson, marketing director, Kwintet UK & International, explained: “The restaurant kitchen is a high-pressure environment and top chefs, male and female, are expected not only to produce great tasting food, but make the process look effortless as well. The clothes they wear in the kitchen need to look professional and on-trend to give them the confidence to represent their restaurant when they are called on to meet their guests. With more female chefs enjoying a higher profile than ever before, it is important they have the highest quality uniforms to reflect the work they put into their cuisine.”

In addition to The Grand Chef Lady, Bragard produces a number of kitchenwear products for chefs and other members of the hospitality industry.

The supplier has also recently extended its Chef on the Move range with black colourway and short-sleeved jackets, offering stylish and functional uniforms that are accessible for young, up-and-coming chefs.
