LED and digital signage specialists, ADI.tv, will install a giant LED screen at the Brewery Square development in Dorchester this October.
Housed on the exterior of the new Odeon cinema in Brewery Square, the 60m2 LED display will be the dominant feature at the centre of this high profile regeneration project, which aims to create a vibrant cultural, commercial and residential hub to the Dorset town.
The ADI team are developing a complete, custom solution for the ‘Screen on the Square’, which will encompass design, manufacture, structural engineering and installation, and utilise their own high specification LED product. ADI’s screen will form an integral part of the town centre experience, and will be used to display a variety of content, including cinema trailers, advertising and locally produced content in dynamic high resolution.
The largest town centre regeneration project in the South West of England is primed to become a popular leisure and retail destination, with an extensive selection of shops and restaurants. Brewery Square will offer an upmarket, continental feel with its open-air dining and attractive central fountain, and once complete comprise of 40 retailers, 6 restaurants, a cinema, a theatre and a spa, not to mention a considerable amount of accommodation in the form of modern townhouses and flats.
A state of the art three screen Odeon cinema is located on the main square, with ADI’s 60m² LED display due to be installed on its exterior in time for the opening on October 26, 2012.
ADI is the UK’s leading and most established name in the LED screen and digital signage market, with installations at UK city centres and stadia around the world, as well as providing giant screens for global events such as The Diamond Jubilee and the London Marathon through their rental division.
The LED specialists have worked closely with the Brewery Square Development Company Ltd since winning the contract earlier in the year, turning initial concepts and the client brief into something more tangible by utilising their own design and manufacturing processes.
Regeneration projects such as this always come with their own challenges, and ADI have specially engineered custom slim-line screen cabinets for the screen, enabling it to comfortably sit in the shallow recess available on the building. The screen itself will be created using ADI’s own high specification12mm outdoor LED product, which provides fantastic picture quality and is ideally suited to the high impact content that will be displayed, particularly Odeon cinema trailers.
By using ADI’s 12mm LED product, the Brewery Square display will be one of the highest resolution outdoor screens of its type in the UK. The exterior of the Odeon will be transformed into a hub of entertainment and information for shoppers, diners, tourists and the local community, screening a mixture of advertising, local content and cinema trailers in vibrant colour and magnificent clarity.
Drew Burrow, ADI Business Development Manager, commented: “We are extremely pleased to be involved in such a large regeneration project, where our LED screen will be located at the very heart of Brewery Square as a key focal point, engaging visitors and the local community and providing a dynamic platform for advertising.
“The vast expertise our team have gained through previous large scale installations has helped us develop a bespoke screen solution that suits the needs of the project, where the end result will be an extremely high impact communication platform.”
