The House Collection, an exciting new group of boutique hotels, has announced that plans are well underway to open its first hotels in the East of England.
The first hotel will be Poet’s House in the centre of Ely, which will open in Spring 2013, with a second hotel in the Cambridge area due to follow soon afterwards.
Both hotels will combine elegant accommodation with fine dining, giving visitors to the region a chance to enjoy affordable luxury and stylish comfort with a distinctly modern edge.
The group behind the House Collection is led by a highly experienced team of hotel specialists whose most recent credentials include running The Belfry in Birmingham. Supported with backing from Cambridgeshire-based investment company Eastern Counties Finance, the group is looking at a variety of other locations across the region and, ultimately, nationwide.
Situated close to the cathedral in the heart of historic Ely, Poet’s House will be a beautifully restored three storey property. The 21 individually styled bedrooms will combine original features with every modern comfort. The restaurant, that can seat 60 diners, will open throughout the day to serve the best of contemporary cuisine with seasonal specialities and fresh, locally sourced ingredients. A function room opening onto the gardens will have capacity for 100 guests, making it a perfect venue for special events and wedding celebrations.
Commenting, David Toulson-Burke Managing Director of the House Collection said: “We are extremely excited about the launch of the first House Collection hotel. Designed with discerning guests in mind, our hotels will meet growing demand for high-quality hospitality in mid-Anglia and the Cambridge area.”
He continued: “A great deal of care is being invested into every aspect of the design of Poet’s House. With the emphasis on style, comfort and attention to detail, we will offer our guests a very different experience to mainstream hotels. We are confident that the arrival of Poet’s House – along with future House Collection hotels – will be very warmly welcomed by the local community and visitors to the region alike.”
Poet’s House is due to open at the end of March 2013 and, as well as accommodation and dining, will also offer a high standard of corporate facilities to the local business community.
