Family run business, Bowland Village Inns has added a new pub and restaurant to its group of award winning eateries.
The New Holly Inn, based in Forton just outside Lancaster now joins the company’s other outlets including The Punchbowl Country Pub and Restaurant in Churchtown, and The Plough Country Pub and Dining Room in Galgate.
In addition to the two eateries, Bowland Village Inns runs the successful weddings operation at Lancaster Golf Club under the brand of Ashton Hall and also operates all catering at Thurnham Hall.
Bowland Village Inns has now entered into a tenancy agreement with Thwaites for the New Holly Inn and has already invested £52,000 into refurbishing it. A further £24,000 will be invested in the accommodation to capture tourist spend as the New Holly is situated in a picturesque village in the Forest of Bowland and on the doorstep of the Lake District.
Steven Greenhalf, director of Bowland Village Inns commented: “The New Holly Inn has changed hands a number of times in a short period but we are now giving it stability by bringing our ethos and focus of what makes country pubs so special – quality and individuality.
“The investment into the New Holly Inn isn’t just financial as we are bringing our dedication to customer service and our own twist on traditional Lancashire food which is of the best in the country. Although our food will be inventive and the quality of our beers and wines will be second to none, the price will be just as palatable.
“We will continue to look at possible outlets that fit with our values as we continue to grow the company.”
Award winning executive head chef, Michael Weston-Cole will be working closely with the new venue’s chef Phil Madden along with Paul Bloomer overseeing the pub and restaurant. He will be supported by Deputy General Manager, Tom Lister and a team of 22 staff.
