Leisure Industry Week (LIW) has commissioned Leisure-net Solutions, leading customer insight and business intelligence provider, to produce a market intelligence report into the rapidly expanding and increasingly popular outdoor fitness sector.

The report will be outlined as part of the Education Village programme at LIW 2012 and will be made available for download to visitors after the event has taken place. With research questions targeted at both consumer and trade representatives, the report will analyse the size, growth and potential of the market as well as providing insight into the motivations of outdoor fitness participants.

Three key industry players will also be represented with in depth case studies into the business practices and successes of some of the leaders in the outdoor fitness field.

Mike Hill of Leisure-net Solutions said “Leisure-net is delighted to be working with LIW 2012 on this important piece of research. Outdoor exercise classes are a growing and vital part of the health and fitness offering and the research will look at the size and growth of the market as well as the underlying consumer motivations which are driving it.”

LIW Event Manager, David Sanvoisin echoed this sentiment saying “It’s important that LIW works with the industry to glean new trends and share them with our visitors. Outdoor fitness represents a growing business opportunity for the leisure community and is therefore an area which we’re pleased to focus on.”

To cater for its growing membership in this area, LIW association partners, the FIA recently set up a new working group for providers of exercise in the outdoors to oversee the creation of a new outdoor fitness code of practice. Leisure-net Solutions will also present further seminars at LIW 2012 with practical advice on how to improve your Flame and Quest Award entries.

LIW takes place from 18th – 20th September 2012 at Birmingham’s NEC. Entry is free for pre registered visitors who can sign up via the website.
