Sanctum Soho has been named London Hotel of the Year at the third annual London Lifestyle Awards, sponsored by UK’s leading silver and diamond brand Hot Diamonds and held at the prestigious Hurlingham Club.
The hotel category was hotly contested with Sanctum Soho pitted against the likes of The Soho Hotel and the Jumeirah Carlton, who both respectively received runner up positions.
Guests were greeted by a fleet of Jaguar cars flanking the entrance before a drinks reception sponsored by Pernod Ricard. They then sat down to enjoy a three course dinner and entertainment from Peter Grant and Rebecca Poole & the RAF Choir, during which the awards were presented.
Other winners of the night included: E4 Udderbelly (Best Festival), Chuan Spa at The Langham Hotel (Best Health & Beauty Facility), Salvatore’s (Best Bar), Mahiki (Best Club), Royal Albert Hall (Best Live Music Venue), Le Caprice (Best Restaurant), Boris Johnson (Personality of the Year) with Arlene Phillips taking home a special trophy awarding her the title of London’s ‘Lifestyle Legend’ of the Year.
The event was attended by over 550 representatives from key UK and international businesses alongside notable personalities, with celebrity guests joining Arlene Phillips including Duncan Bannatyne, Dame Kelly Holmes, Brian Friedman, John Partridge, Christopher Biggins, Sinitta, Olivia Hallinan, Kate Garraway, Lorraine Chase and Tyler James.
Jason Gale, founder of the awards commented: “Last year’s event was such a memorable night, with so many deserving people and businesses picking up awards. This year we have had an even more amazing response to the awards with such an overwhelming number of businesses nominated and voted for by the public.
“With the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and Olympic Games giving London a bumper 2012, the London Lifestyle Awards have coincided with such a celebratory year for the capital. By honouring the admirable personalities and businesses that make London the best city in the world this autumn, we have most definitely seen 2012 with a bang.”
The 2012 London Lifestyle Awards saw 4,127 business and personalities across 18 categories in contention for one of the coveted awards, with 202 businesses making the final cut to battle it out for the trophies – securing a record-breaking 207,006 public votes in total.
