Hotel and Facilities Management by Leisure Connection, an operator of outsourced leisure facilities, has boosted profits after making a £25k investment in staff training across its portfolio of UK based hotel gym and health centers.

The news comes as the private operator has achieved its strongest financial and membership year to date, with a year on year sales increase of 62.5% and a year on year membership rise of 87.5%. The leisure operator has also halved membership rejections to just 6%.

The success is a result of extensive staff training programmes that have been rolled out across the operator’s portfolio. Training programmes include, NPMQ (National Pool Management Qualification), FAW (First Aid at Work), NPPO (National Pool Plant Operator) and Sales Managment. The leisure company has also invested in eight apprentices who are developing under the lifetime training programme.

Steve Bambury, Head of Hotels at Leisure Connection, commented: “Last year proved to be a successful year for Hotel and Facilities Management by Leisure Connection, this success could not have been achieved if we had not invested in the development of our staff, from our management and sales teams right through to our front of house staff.

“The programmes we have put in place have ensured a consistent level of quality is delivered to our members and, as a result, we have witnessed an increase in membership and retention. We are delighted with the results and will continue to drive this success in 2013.”
