Temporary structures specialist Neptunus has been officially recognised as a supplier of Olympic venues to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Neptunus was responsible for installing several high quality temporary structures in and around the capital prior to the commencement of the Games last summer.

These included a basketball training facility in Leyton Marsh in addition to two McDonald’s restaurants and an impressive hospitality pavilion for Prestige Ticketing (PTL) within the Olympic Park.

Neptunus also constructed LOCOG’s 4,000 sq m retail megastore, which was a full turnkey solution consisting of goods lifts, floor covering, climate control, lighting, fire systems, decking, steps and ramps.

In keeping with the sustainable legacy of the Games all of the structures were dismantled after the event and every component returned to hire stock for future use.

“We are very proud of the part that Neptunus played in the most talked about event of last year,” says April Trasler, UK managing director. “Thanks to the hard work of our dedicated teams, all of the challenges of this unique event were met and overcome successfully. The London 2012 Games received worldwide acclaim and the high-quality projects that we were involved with will provide a fantastic reference in the future.”

Neptunus is an international specialist in providing high-class temporary structures for hospitality and corporate events as well as semi-permanent, re-locatable buildings for the public sector, commerce and industry. Applications include retail outlets, sports halls, showrooms, warehouses, restaurants and more.

Established over 75 years ago in The Netherlands, Neptunus employs more than 200 people at its offices throughout Europe. In 2012 it constructed a purpose-built office, storage and distribution facility in Northampton to support the growth of the business in the UK.

In the events sector, Neptunus offers an impressive range of premium quality, bespoke structures. These can regularly be found at prestigious events such as the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, Goodwood Festival of Speed, The Open Golf Championship, Hampton Court Flower Show and in 2012, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympic Games.

In addition, Neptunus provides solutions to blue-chip companies including Audi, Red Bull, Mercedes Benz and HSBC.
