Terminal 4 (T4) will be a major addition to the award winning Changi Airport.

The new terminal will add almost 20% to Changi Airport’s annual capacity, bringing it from 66 to 82 million passengers.

Schindler will be supplying the mobility solutions to handle the increase by equipping the terminal with 58 elevators and escalators, including 23 of the newly launched Schindler 5500 elevators. Schindler will also provide maintenance services over 20 years.

T4’s simple and functional design was inspired by an orchid petal, and intends to treat visitors with lush greenery and natural sunlight. The heart of the terminal will feature a 300-meter-long Central Galleria, separating the public zone from the restricted zone. Built on the site of the former Budget Terminal, the new terminal will cover a total of 195,000 m2 and include a new 68-meter control tower.

Since starting operations in 1981, Changi Airport has become the world’s most awarded airport, regularly claiming the title of world’s best airport by industry authorities and organizations including the Airports Council International and Skytrax.

"We are elated by Changi Airport’s decision and look forward to working with a group so widely recognized for its dedication to service excellence”, says Hugo Martinho, Managing Director of Schindler Lifts Singapore.
