Innovative washroom manufacturer, Washroom Washroom has delivered stunning high specification changing areas and washrooms at the newly developed Streatham Leisure Centre.
The new building forms a central part of the Streatham Hub leisure development, run by Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL), for the Lambeth area of London and includes a 25 metre, six-lane swimming pool and 13 metre learner pool, full Olympic-sized 1,000 seat ice rink, as well as a health and fitness suite. The world-class facilities, which are open to the public, offer a significant upgrade on the existing leisure facilities in the area.
Washroom, working with KJ Evans Electrical in a live environment, installed new changing rooms as well as showers and washrooms for both male and female areas, all finished to a high specification in line with the rest of the centre.
A key feature is Washroom’s flush front glass iLockers, which are available in a wide choice of colours, specified in a striking combination of green, grey and white to create a completely unique look.
Manufactured with a hardwearing aluminium carcass as well as satin anodised aluminium framework and hinges, the iLocker is ideally suited for use in wet and humid changing areas. Each locker is also fitted with a digital lock which uses a four digit code of the individual users’ choosing, to provide a secure storage solution for visitors to the centre.
The colourful iLockers make a distinctive contrast with the Legato benching and hook rails, which were finished in Ebony Oak laminate. Washroom’s integrated duct panelling system, partitions and cubicle doors were all manufactured in durable Solid Grade Laminate and, like the benching, were finished in Ebony Oak.
Washroom’s Mezzo Aqua cubicles, manufactured in 10mm clear float glass with a white screenprint band to the reverse and vertical edges in anodised aluminium, were installed in the shower areas, adding to the stylish design.
Lee Kent, commercial director at KJ Evans Electrical said: “The whole project went really smoothly and it was great to know that the team from Washroom Washroom were always on hand to sort out any potential issues on site. The finished changing areas and washrooms look fantastic and will no doubt help encourage more people to take advantage of these new leisure facilities.”
Trevor Bowers, director at Washroom Washroom, commented: “We’re delighted with the finished design, which complements the high specification facilities seen throughout the centre. The colourful iLockers, in particular, help make the space truly unique and completely bespoke. It was a pleasure to work on such world-class leisure facilities.”
