New thermally-efficient aluminium windows and doors have been supplied and installed at the Link Hotel in Loughborough by Total Glass, one of the UK’s leading aluminium window and door fabricators.

The new thermally-broken windows were manufactured using the Sapa Dualframe 75 System in an external RAL 3005 dark red gloss finish with a RAL 9910 white gloss powder-coating to the inside frames. Low emissivity glass panels were specified to retain heat in the building, helping to conserve energy.

Total Glass carried out a full survey prior to manufacture and installation of the new windows, which replaced the original 1980s non-thermally broken aluminium windows at the 94-bedroomed hotel.

Bespoke aluminium feature panels in a matching dark red finish were also installed on double-storey bay windows. Sapa ST thermally-broken emergency exit doors in a matching finish were also fitted in the building, providing greater security and thermal-efficiency.

Stuart Holt, Total Glass Commercial Aluminium Manager said: “We worked closely with the hotel management team to co-ordinate the works and minimise disruption while the hotel remained open throughout the refurbishment project, which was completed on time and to budget.”
