Panel Systems, one of the UK’s leading panel and building board suppliers, has reported an increase in demand for its SoffitLiner range for use in insulating underground car parks.

The weather-resistant panel, which is part of Panel Systems’ new Architectural and Composite Panel division, is designed to improve the thermal performance of exposed concrete soffits.

Danny Phelan, Sales Manager at Panel Systems, said: “We have seen a significant increase in orders for the SoffitLiner range recently, especially with contractors looking to enhance the thermal and fire resisting properties of soffits in underground car parks.”

Danny added: “SoffitLiner is ideal for new builds or refurbishments. The range offers an effective means of improving energy efficiency to meet with ever stringent building thermal and fire performance requirements.”

There are three products within the SoffitLiner range, all of which are faced with a 6mm Class ‘0’ fibre cement facing board. The standard SoffitLiner board utilises Styrofoam’s closed cell extruded polystyrene as the insulation backing, and is supplied in a variety of insulation thicknesses to meet  U-value requirements.

SoffitLinerFR has an insulation backing of Class ‘0’ Phenolic foam which has zero ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential) and low GWP (Global Warming Potential), making it ideal for BREEAM applications.

SoffitLinerFR+ features a high density rock mineral wool backing, which is non-combustible to Euroclass A1 and also contains Zero ODP and Zero GWP.

The SoffitLiner products are available in economical sheet sizes to maximise coverage and can be fixed directly to concrete soffits using mechanical fixings. The boards are easy to cut and light in weight, which allows for a quick and dry installation.

Panel Systems manufactures a wide range of dry-lining boards which improve thermal performance and reduce the carbon footprint of a project, providing energy savings. The company’s Architectural and Composite Panel division also provides the construction industry with architectural panels and pressed metal, which help to create stunning facades for both new build and refurbishment projects.
