With showrooms already in London, Paris and Milan, Porcelanosa has enhanced its brand presence in the world’s style capitals with the opening of its flagship store in New York.

The six-storey showroom on the corner of Broadway and Fifth Avenue has been designed by prestigious UK architect Foster + Partners and was unveiled at a star-studded event yesterday.

The glittering launch party, hosted by American TV presenter Meredith Vieira, was attended by more than 700 guests including Sarah Jessica Parker, Richard Gere, Irina Shayk, Isabel Preysler, Spanish models Clara Alonso and Nieves Álvarez and the doctors Valentín Fuster and José Baselga.

Porcelanosa is known for its sleek, contemporary interior design products across the UK, Europe and America. So, when it decided to open its flagship US store in the heart of a city known for its love of design, it was essential to showcase these products to their best advantage.

Strategically located next to Madison Square Park, Foster + Partners have created a six-storey showroom that is truly stunning. The iconic facade of the 1,700 / 2,000m² Commodore Criterion building has been preserved, whilst the interior has been reconfigured to create a sequence of spaces showcasing the latest design trends. Each space features elements of Porcelanosa’s extensive product range encompassing floor and wall tiles, beautiful bathrooms, cutting-edge kitchens, natural stone and natural wooden products, Solid Surface by Krion® and stylish building systems.

The top floors with their panoramic views of Manhattan will be used to host exclusive events, lectures, seminars, exhibitions and conventions.

Silvestre Segarra, General Manager at Porcelanosa said: “Like the UK, America is an important territory for us, so it was imperative for us to create a destination showroom where architects and residents can see our extensive range of products and understand how they can be used to create unique and exciting interiors.”

Here in the UK, Porcelanosa is the biggest importer of tiles supplying more than 40 per cent of the market.  As well as tiles, the company offers an extensive product range that includes kitchen and bathroom equipment as well as state-of-the-art building solutions for contemporary architecture.

Porcelanosa employs around 500 people across the UK. The Group’s headquarters is based in Castellón, Spain and globally, it has more than 400 showrooms.
