A new website has been created for the spray applied and injected polyurethane foam industry.

It highlights the product benefits, applications, and recommends the use of registered installers who are skilled in the application of polyurethane foam.

The site, which has been developed by the British Urethane Foam Contractors Association, is at www.bufca.co.uk.

The website has been designed to help specifiers meet the increased fabric performance requirements of the April 2014 Part L Building Regulations in new build, and the Scottish Building Standards, Part 6 ‘Energy’.

The process is also recommended to bring older properties up to high standards of thermal performance, including hard-to-heat properties which may be difficult to treat with other materials. It is also particularly useful in flood plain areas as an extra layer of resistance to the ingress of flood water through the outer walls.

Builders, developers and specifiers need to find new ways to ensure that new and existing buildings not only meet the relevant standards but also outperform similar projects when it comes to saving energy and carbon.

The British Urethane Foam Contractors Association (BUFCA) is the national trade association representing the spray applied and injected polyurethane foam industry.

The association has specialist installers who are expert in the installation of PU foam in a wide variety of applications. Material and equipment suppliers are also part of BUFCA.
