Aico’s AudioLINK, the data extraction technology integrated into its Carbon Monoxide (CO) Alarms and the new Multi-Sensor Fire Alarm - Ei2110e - has won a host of prestigious industry awards and accolades in its first year.
To date, AudioLINK has won: Electrical App of the Year at the Electrical Industry Awards; Best New Product at the SELECT awards (the trade body for the electrotechnical industry in Scotland); Innovative Product of the Year at the Northern Ireland Electrical Awards; and Gas Industry Innovation at AGSM Supplier Excellence Awards. What’s more, AudioLINK has been selected by readers of the market leading publication Professional Electrician as one of their top 25 products of the year.
AudioLINK is a revolutionary alarm technology that allows for invaluable real time data to be extracted via the Alarm’s sounder - all you need is an AudioLINK enabled Aico Alarm, a tablet or smartphone and the free AudioLINK App which converts the data into an Alarm Status Report. The AudioLINK App is available on Android, iOS (iPhones and iPads) and now Windows devices.
The AudioLINK Alarm Status Report, which is simple to review and store, is created for the life of the Alarm and is colour coded to identify the urgency of any issue. The Report displays useful information about the Alarm, such as battery life, alarm sensor status, number of times tested and removed; and, in the case of CO Alarms, detection levels of CO, including background CO, with details of when it occurred - all in a simple format. As the information is generated in real time, should there be an issue it can be dealt with there and then.
Additional information about each section can be obtained simply by tapping onto the desired area on the tablet or smartphone – this will then provide more detailed guidance to the user. The Report can accommodate additional information such as a site reference number, address or location before being forwarded via email or to be stored in a key location for future reference.
Data is stored for the life of the Alarm and can be extracted as many times as required, enabling historic information to be retained. As such, AudioLINK is proving extremely popular with landlords and contractors working for them as it improves the level of protection tenants will receive whilst being more time, budget and resource efficient. It can be used as part of the annual Gas Safety Checks (CP12) and property checks prior to changing over to new tenants (recently enshrined in law for private landlords for the first time). It provides a quick and simple way to test and record the Alarm is working prior to tenants moving in.
AudioLINK has been installed as standard into all of Aico’s CO Alarms, including the Ei208 Lithium battery powered range and Ei261 and Ei262 mains powered alarms, along with the new Multi-Sensor Fire Alarm – the Ei2110e.
Neal Hooper, Director, Aico states “We are delighted to receive this level of recognition from the industry and our customers. AudioLINK has already proven an invaluable tool to our customers, detecting CO leaks from appliances such as cookers and boilers. Contractors have used AudioLINK to extract data from Aico CO alarms immediately, using the Alarm Status Report as a visual guide to prove CO is present and take immediate action to avoid harm to the tenant. AudioLINK is now being installed in the new Multi-Sensor, the Ei2110e, so real time data can now be extracted from smoke alarms, a real bonus for our customers.”
The CO Alarms feature a proven CO sensor which is pre-calibrated and tested in real CO gas to ensure accuracy and attains the British Standard for CO detection in residential dwellings - BS EN 50291-1:2010 or BS EN 50291-2:2010.
The Multi-Sensor Fire Alarm, the Ei2110e, contains two sensor types, optical and heat, to constantly monitor smoke and heat levels, sending and receiving information via its intelligent detection software. It is this sensor information that alters the alarm’s sensitivity and trigger points, automatically providing the best response to all fire types and reduces potential false alarms. The Multi-Sensor Fire Alarm, the Ei2110e, can be sited anywhere in a home that requires a smoke alarm – making it easier to specify.
To clearly identify the new AudioLINK featured Alarms, alarm units will carry a readily identifiable AudioLINK symbol.
