The UK’s leading manufacturer of heating and hot water products, Worcester, Bosch Group has added a new wall-mounted Heat Distribution Unit to its portfolio of heating and hot water technologies.

The Greenstar Heat Distribution Unit (HDU) has been designed to provide domestic hot water and space heating to residential properties that are served by district heating or centralised boiler plants.

Thanks to its two hydraulically-separated plate-to-plate heat exchangers, the Greenstar HDU operates indirectly, so the heating circuit of the individual dwelling is separated from the main communal boiler plant. To keep energy consumption to a minimum, the unit operates only when domestic hot water or space heating is required and is capable of providing hot water on demand when in standby mode, thanks to an intuitive bypass valve.

Worcester’s latest addition comes complete with a first fix rail, which allows the unit to be pre-plumbed prior to installation, saving time on site; and is also available with an optional heat meter, which gives the end-user the option of monitoring consumption.

Suitable for both new-build and retrofit installations, the Greenstar HDU is fully compatible with Bosch Commercial & Industrial Heating’s full range of heating and hot water technologies; giving stakeholders the option of investing in a complete system from a single supplier.

Speaking of the latest addition Martyn Bridges, director of marketing and technical support at Worcester, Bosch Group, said: “The addition of a Heat Distribution Unit to our portfolio of technologies reinforces our commitment to providing the complete system solution. The product is ideal for residential developments where individual apartments are served by a central boiler plant, which is becoming increasingly common in urban areas across the UK’s larger towns and cities.

“By developing the Greenstar HDU, we hope to provide contractors and consultants working in the residential sector, with an adaptable product capable of efficiently providing heating and hot water to residents on a large scale.”

Worcester, Bosch Group’s Greenstar HDU is offered with a full 2 year guarantee*, with on-going service and maintenance contracts available through the manufacturer’s award-winning customer service department.
