Since the mid 1990’s Lorient has had a presence in the Far East – through Lorient Pacific Ltd – and this operation has experienced somewhat of a renaissance in an increasingly-buoyant market.

While there is a highly successful team in Hong Kong, led by Chris Sin, it has become clear that more resources are needed in the wider region to support the strong Lorient brand. Demand for Lorient’s products and services is on the increase in a number of emerging economies in Asia and specifically there has been a sharp upturn in activity in the Southeast region.

Therefore the company has announced the incorporation of a new subsidiary Lorient Southeast Asia to serve customers in that region - from the vibrant hub of Singapore. The choice of Singapore was crucial; it has an enterprising business environment, strong business infrastructure, political stability and an international outlook. For many years, the company has enjoyed long-standing relationships with customers there and its strong links with European and specifically British Architects made it a natural choice.

Lorient also announced that it has appointed a well-respected and experienced senior industry professional to run Lorient Southeast Asia.

Neil Holmes joined Lorient when he took up residence in Singapore following his most recent position with Hafele in Sydney, Australia. Neil – former Sales Director of leading architectural ironmonger Allgood – has a lifetime of experience working alongside Architects, Contractors and Clients.

Maria Simmonds, Managing Director said: We are thrilled to have secured the services of such a professional. Neil is the perfect fit for our new business in Singapore and his wealth of experience and knowledge - teamed with his personable approach, make him the very best choice for Lorient”.

Plans are already underway for sales and marketing activity in Singapore and the surrounding region with Neil working alongside his colleagues from the UK and Hong Kong teams to get the new Lorient Southeast Asia business up and running during the summer months.
