ISG has secured a £620K project as part of the Radian Group Framework to create five new residential properties on an existing social housing estate. Located in Totton, Hampshire, the project will enable Radian to maximise the accommodation it can offer on an existing residential scheme by redeveloping disused garage sites.
The Radian Group Framework enables other regional Registered Social Landlords in the Hampshire area to procure work via the framework. This is the first project that ISG will undertake as part of the framework and the company will begin preparation of the site in January ready for the 30-week programme to begin in April.
The programme will begin with demolition of the former garage blocks to create three separate sites within a five mile radius. Construction will then begin on five new properties comprising three two-bedroom bungalows, a two-bedroom house and a three-bedroom house, all of which will be of traditional brick and block construction. Each of the new homes is set to achieve a Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 environmental performance rating and ISG will also carry out external landscaping for each plot.
ISG’s Ian Gifford – managing director – South East, commented: “Radian has a significant development programme planned over the next four years so we’re delighted to undertake our first project in Totton as part of this influential housing framework, helping to maximise the number of residential units available in this established community. ISG has strong credentials within the social housing sector and is a framework contractor for many of the UK’s leading housing providers, delivering award winning schemes and working closely with our clients to create modern, high performance accommodation for residents.”
