Prime Minister, David Cameron, recently visited Redruth based Frame UK for a tour of the company’s facilities during which he met many members of the company’s workforce.
As a large employer in the region Frame UK were an important stop on the Prime Minister’s tour of the region ahead of the local elections at the beginning of May. Accompanied by the Chairman of Frame UK, Bob Pepper, Mr Cameron viewed pro-duction lines in both factories as well as meeting the Frame UK design teams who use MiTek software throughout their timber frame, trussed rafter and Posi-Joist opera-tions.
Frame UK has recently completed the installation of the only fully automatic
Weinmann timber frame line in the UK, enabling them to broaden their product offering to include panels that have not only factory fitted render board but also the basecoat render applied in the factory. The challenges of achieving this were signifi-cantly reduced by Frame UK’s decision to implement the WoodEngine timber frame package. This has allowed the detailing of panel connections, window reveals, toler-ances and a many other small details to be quickly and accurately incorporated into the design.
Commenting on the investment, Bill Marsh, Production Director of Frame UK said “The combination of the new Weinmann Timber frame line in addition to the Randek Timber Frame line that Frame Homes has, required a software package that could easily keep up with a significant increase in factory demand. Our choice of the MiTek Woodengine package is already showing results”.
