Samsung kits out floating eco home in London's St Katharine's dock

Sanitov Studio chooses Samsung home appliances, consumer electronics and mobile devices for the launch of its sustainable floating home

LONDON, August 3rd, 2012—Samsung UK and Sanitov Floating Homes announce the launch of Inachus, an innovative and sustainable floating home. Offering a revolution in urban living, Inachus is fully equipped with Samsung home appliances and consumer electronics products, including its latest refrigerator, washing machines, floorcare, cooking products, tablets and LED TVs.

Inachus, which takes its name from the Greek River God, is part of Sanitov Floating Homes’ ongoing Future-Cities project, which looks to actively integrate the River Thames into the urban fabric of London, through sustainable living. This is the first home in what will become a floating community of individually customised homes based on the design of Inachus.

Inachus is one of around only 40 dwellings in the UK to carry Energy Level 5 status and is set to become one of the most sustainable homes in London – representing a new way of urban living. Inachus is able to achieve the equivalent of zero heating, ventilation and lighting carbon emissions through:
