Electromechanical bolts from Trimec, part of ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, are being used as part of a security solution for a contemporary retail and housing development in Stoke Newington.
A Durkan Estates development, the £9.3million regeneration project on Stoke Newington High Street, London, comprises elegant one and two-bed apartments, as well as retail and commercial premises.
The ES6000 Hook Locks from Trimec were specified and installed by Everglade Windows, whose doorsets, complete with the Trimec locking products, provide a Secured By Design accredited solution for the retail premises at the multi-use development.
Jayesh Hirani, Commercial Project Manager for Everglade Windows, explained: “We made the decision to specify Trimec Hook Locks on our doorsets due to the superior quality and the ability to achieve the official UK Police initiative supporting 'designing out crime' - Secured By Design, which is increasingly vital on commercial and residential developments.
“Trimec’s locks work well with our system profile and is particularly suited to heavy-duty doors, thanks to its robust stainless steel construction.”
Trimec’s Hook Lock can operate freely under 300kg of side pressure, and is available in power to open and power to close variants.
Richard Lawes, Sales Manager for ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, said: “One of the advantages of the hook lock for modern retail projects, such as the Stoke Newington development, is its concealment within the doorframe – creating a streamline and attractive finish, complemented by Everglade’s sleek system profile.
“We’re very excited to be involved in this project, and working with a fabricator, like Everglade, that understands the importance of and tests to Secured By Design standards, ensures the end result is aesthetically pleasing but also safe and secure for all building users.”
