The UK’s leading manufacturer and prefabricator of ceramic granite ventilated façade systems, Shackerley, is the latest industry heavyweight to add its name to the impressive list of exhibitors at this year’s Surface & Materials Show.

As part of UK Construction Week, the show will be the definitive event in the calendar for anyone involved in the design, specification and installation of building finishes. It promises to showcase the most innovative systems, performance materials and aesthetic finishes from across the world of surfaces and materials.

Shackerley pioneered the UK market for ceramic granite ventilated cladding from the end of the 20th century onwards and has remained the clear market leader ever since, extending its offer in recent years to include engineered stone and crystallised glass. The company supplies its innovative, award-winning Sureclad ventilated facades as complete, installation-ready systems, fully prefabricated at its ISO 9001 accredited manufacturing facilities in Lancashire.

Undercut anchorage lies at the heart of each Sureclad façade panel, providing an extremely robust, safe, secure and stress free method of mechanically fixing the large format cladding panels to the facade support system. The company’s systems meet all UK requirements (CWCT and NHBC) for ventilated facades and have even been deemed suitable for use in earthquake zones after being subjected to extensive seismic testing in the US.

“Ventilated cladding is our core business and we are continuously developing new ways to use fully vitrified ceramic granite, engineered stone and other large format materials to enhance and protect the exterior envelope,” commented Shackerley chief Brian G Newell. “Over the past decade Sureclad has become a byword for extremely durable, premium quality ventilated cladding and we have an exceptional track record of completed high profile projects in every sector of the market.”

“At the show our specialist technical team will be on hand to provide expert knowledge and support, whatever the specification or installation challenge. Because the show brings together both specifiers and installers, it is a very important event for us,” Mr Newell concluded.

Product innovations and technical expertise from exhibitors will be enriched by the informative seminar schedule that the Surface & Materials has to offer. Featuring debates, workshops and panel discussions, manufacturers, specifiers and installers will be able to enjoy a forum that is ready-primed for knowledge sharing and relationship building. Those interested in ceramic ventilated cladding should note that Brian G Newell will be presenting a seminar on the subject on Tuesday 6th October at 12:00.

Bringing together nine shows under one roof, UK Construction Week will be the biggest construction trade event the UK has seen in years.  Taking place at the Birmingham NEC from 6 – 11 October (with the trade only days from 6 – 8 October) the event will unite 1,000 exhibitors with an expected audience of 55,000 visitors.

Visitors will be able to attend the Build Show (incorporating Civils Expo), Timber Expo, the Surface and Materials Show, Energy 2015, Kitchens & Bathrooms Live, Plant & Machinery Live, HVAC 2015, Smart Buildings 2015 and Grand Designs Live.
