The Managed Services team of leading merchant Travis Perkins has been appointed by Welsh housing association Cartefri Cymunedol Gwynedd (CCG) to help manage supplies for a £17 million refurbishment programme.
CCG, which is in the second stage of a four year investment plan, is aiming to bring its 6,300 homes up to the Welsh Government’s Welsh Housing Quality Standard (WHQS) by 2015. Travis Perkins will supply a full range of high quality internal and external building materials for the project, in addition to aiding efficiency and cost savings by managing CCG’s general repairs and maintenance division.
The contract win has also led to the opening of a dedicated Travis Perkins branch in Caernarfon, creating new jobs and supporting the existing four branches in the Gwynedd area. The merchant also plans to bolster community ties by taking on apprentices from the region and contributing towards a series of events including the well-known Welsh youth festival, Urdd Eisteddfod.
James Clack, Sales Director of Travis Perkins Managed Services, commented: “We’re delighted to be working with CCG on this project. We’ll be supplying a wide range of materials, from door locks to full bathroom suites, to assist with the aim of meeting WHQS standards.
“We take our responsibility to the community very seriously, so this project will give us a chance to consolidate our presence in Wales and ensure that we have a positive impact on the local area.”
