Wienerberger, the UK’s leading provider of wall, roofing and landscape solutions, has announced the launch of five new facing bricks.
The launch is part of an extensive product development programme at Wienerberger’s Ewhurst site – one of the largest brick factories in the South East of England.
The bricks, which are a selection of red multi and orange multi products, were designed for the new build housing market. The aesthetics of the range complement each other well to enable housebuilders to achieve attractive street scenes on their developments.
To enhance the aesthetics of these new bricks further a special ‘soft-edged’ texture has been developed within the manufacturing process, which gives them a stock brick style appearance that is very popular in the market at the moment and really makes them stand out from other wirecut bricks.
The development programme at the Ewhurst factory saw Wienerberger develop over 40 different options.Feedback sessions were held to give a number of housebuilders and other key customers as well as members of its own sales team the chance to view the range to select which products to launch. After much deliberation, it was decided to take the following bricks to market: Cedarwood Multi, Dunsfold Multi, Kingsley Multi, Somersbury Multi and Shipley Blend.
Wienerberger expects the range to be popular across the South of England as well as parts of East Anglia and the Midlands.
The launch takes Wienerberger’s portfolio of facing bricks manufactured at Ewhurst up to seven, which also includes the Sienna Red and Ewhurst Medium Multi, both of which have achieved significant sales growth over the past two years.
Lee Pauls, Category Product Manager at Wienerberger, said: “A great deal of development work has taken place at Ewhurst over the past six months to produce these new bricks and the customer feedback we’ve had to date has been excellent.
"With new build housing being one of the key drivers for the construction industry at the moment, it’s important to provide products that will help satisfy market demand. These new bricks were specifically designed and created with the new build housing market in mind, so they should be an ideal choice for developers."
