Imperial Bricks, the UK’s leading handmade brick supplier, has seen a 25% increase in sales compared to 2015/16’s trading year and a 20% increase in business growth due to the surge in demand for reclamation-style bricks.
This demand is driven by builders’ merchants, architects and specifiers, developers and self-builders looking for expert advice and knowledge to achieve a perfect match.
A range of 50+ traditional handmade, wirecut, waterstruck and pressed bricks, available in imperial and metric sizes and reclamation finishes has created a unique offering in this sub-sector of brick. In 2017, the company also introduced complementary Heritage lime mortar and brick tint solution to the range.
The traditional handmade brick market has grown rapidly over the last ten years, and with increasing demand from self-builders, architects and specifiers, developers and builders’ merchants, Imperial Bricks is ideally placed to benefit. A recent shortlist for ‘Best Heavyside Brand’ at the Builders’ Merchant Journal awards is testament to the surge in awareness of Imperial’s product, service and support.
Jason Hughes, Managing Director comments: “From the start of the business, we noticed a gap in the market for reclamation-style bricks that did not suffer from the same issues as genuine reclaims.
It’s crucial to take into consideration the regional variations in handmade bricks, and that is an area of strength for us. From London Yellow Stock, new Original London Stock, Cambridge Buff, and a series of imperial-sized bricks suitable for the Midlands and North such as the 3” Reclamation Handmade, the new York Clamp and Imperial Accrington Stock, our expert team knows what brick suits where, and are increasing the product range continually to meet demand.”
Expert advice is available for housebuilders, developers, architects and specifiers who are looking for a brick match and need samples to meet tough planning and conservation guidelines. Builders’ merchants are also benefiting from Imperial’s POS materials and Brick Tower displays, showcasing the regionally appropriate bricks for their area.
Two RIBA-approved CPD courses are also available, helping architects and specifiers learn about brick matching, restoration and renovation with bricks and more with CPD Roadshows taking place throughout 2018.
Jason concludes: “Our growth in the last few years has been extraordinary, thanks to a dedicated and enthusiastic team that firmly believe in our products, our positioning in the market and the expert advice that helps projects from concept to completion.”
