Gerflor’s Agrippa contributes towards high scoring HIP Customer satisfaction survey following South Lanarkshire Council’s finished kitchen and bathroom refurbishments
The completion of one of Scotland’s most ambitious and largest home improvement projects of its type has culminated in an accolade for flooring supplier, Gerflor, for its part in the achievement of a 94% tenant satisfaction rating for the finished kitchen and bathrooms in the project’s concluding HIP customer survey.
Begun in 2004, the aim of South Lanarkshire Council’s HomeHappening programme was to install a new kitchen and bathroom together with other related works in every council home. The finishing touches to the 25,000th house marked the official end of the project, although other works will continue in order to meet the Scottish Housing Quality Standard by 2015.
Gerflor was one of the leading suppliers of high quality products and services to be carefully selected by South Lanarkshire Council for the refurbishment work. With tenant satisfaction critical to the success of the programme, residents’ views have been considered since planning stages, through local forums and customer groups.
Jean McCaskie, who became the 25,000th tenant to have the kitchen and bathroom upgrade said: “I think it’s fantastic – I’m so delighted with it. I wish I’d had it years ago! The choice was excellent. For example, with the kitchen you had a choice of cupboards, tiles, vinyl. I really think we’ve stepped up a big notch with the quality.”
The vinyl is Gerflor’s Agrippa range of decorative, acoustic, R10 slip resistant and HSE compliant vinyl for residential housing. At 19db, Agrippa delivers outstanding impact sound reduction for a quieter home environment in both single and multi-occupancy dwellings. 3mm thick and warm and comfortable, it also benefits from Gerflor’s patented, PureClean, GripX surface coating and 0.25mm PU wear layer for superior slip resistance and easier cleaning than traditional slip resistant vinyl.
Christine Miller, Architectural Officer for South Lanarkshire’s Property Services Housing & Technical Resources, confirmed that Agrippa has received good tenant feed-back: “The tenants were pleased with the colour and pattern choices, which could be coordinated with the kitchen units, worktops and tile finishes. The soft cushioning of the vinyl also gave a more homely feel and it can be easily cleaned.”
As domestic cushioned vinyl, Agrippa, passed the necessary credentials check, South Lanarkshire Council were quick to opt for its specification as opposed to a contract quality vinyl, which would have been of utilitarian quality and appearance within tenants’ homes. In addition, contract vinyl is only available in two metre widths, whereas Agrippa comes in two, three and four metre widths to fit most rooms in a single piece without the need to join on site. Agrippa is also easy-to-install, durable and does not trap dirt or become less slip resistant with time.
Agrippa has a 10 year product guarantee, is 100% recyclable, and is manufactured at Gerflor’s ISO 14001 certified production sites. Experts in flooring with 10 years experience in the housing sector, Gerflor’s portfolio of environmentally sustainable products includes floorings for domestic, communal and commercial areas of new build and refurbishment projects.
