ECE Architecture, based in Worthing, West Sussex, has specified Broadrib and Array carpet tiles from Heckmondwike FB as part of the refurbishment of Portland House, on behalf of Adur and Worthing Council.

The project involved the supply of over 2000m2 of Heckmondwike carpet tiles for the office refurbishment. This included 708 m2 of Array in purple, which was complemented by 415m2 of Broadrib in purple and 444 m2 of Array in blue, which co-ordinates with 190 m2 in blue. On this project, the accent colours were used to define the walkways around the perimeter of offices and for demarcation of the fire exits, as well as to add design and detail. For the common areas, 272m2 of Array in black was specified and 50m2 of Diamond in charcoal, for the entrance areas.

Gary Kelly, Architect at ECE in Worthing, said: “We had specified Heckmondwike carpet before and particularly like the Array range and how it can be complemented by the accent colours, for which we chose blue and purple. The accent colours clearly mark the large open plan work areas into zones for ease of navigating the building, as well as breaking up large areas of flooring and adding an extra element of design.”

Abby Chandler, Marketing Manager for Heckmondwike FB, said: “Our new Array tiles are providing a very popular choice when used with our Broadrib tile to suit a wide range of commercial and educational environments. They were the perfect choice for this refurbishment project as they allow for the creation of a contemporary and durable work space.”
