Forrest – the social housing contractor – has completed the first refurbishment in its four-year agreement with North West-based housing provider, Equity Housing Group.

The scheme at Fulstone Mews in Stockport comprises a mix of general let and sheltered housing.

As part of the works programme, Forrest delivered a series of updates to the sheltered accommodation including painting and decorating communal areas and hallways, fitting new lighting systems and installing new stud partitions and fire doors.

During this time the contractor has also carried out more than 200 responsive repair jobs at these properties, including out-of-hours plumbing, electrical works and joinery.

The refurbishment is part of Forrest’s four-year responsive repairs and maintenance framework with Equity Housing Group, valued at up to £1.2m per year.

Toni Roberts, Scheme Manager, Equity Housing Group, said: “This refurbishment has given Fulstone Mews a new lease of life and raised the living conditions for tenants. We’ve been really impressed by how Forrest approached the project, both in the quality of work delivered and the excellent way the team has conducted themselves.”

Gary Haslam, Responsive and Void Manager, Forrest, added: “The completion of this programme marks an important milestone in our partnership with Equity and sets a precedent for the next phase of works.”
