A window designed specifically for use in the mental healthcare sector is the subject of a new video from Kawneer.
A video demonstrating how well its AA®3110HW horizontal sliding window meets the requirements of mental health units has been unveiled by leading aluminium systems supplier Kawneer.
The five-minute video shows the performance of the window system when under sustained attack, demonstrating its security credentials in this environment. The frame and the perforated security mesh passed the test "superbly well", with the glass staying intact for 45 minutes, according to Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust.
The healthcare window video contains an interview with the trust's project manager James Lister who explains how the window meets their requirements of robustness, anti-ligature features, cleanability and clean lines.
The role played by the company's national network of approved sub-contractors in designing and fabricating the window to specific healthcare trust requirements is explained by Kawneer's sales and marketing director Mark Clemson.
One such sub-contractor, Polar (NE), is shown fabricating the AA®3110HW window while it is explained that Kawneer's role does not just end with the supply of the material and the installation of the product.
