Relcross is now offering its security-grade Von Duprin 99 panic exit devices with QEL - Quiet Electric Latch retraction.
Perfect for settings where quiet operation is essential such hospitals, clinics libraries, museums and theatre, The Relcross Von Duprin 99QEL also features Von Duprin’s patented fluid dampener that decelerates the touch bar on its return stroke, eliminating most of the noise associated with exit device operations.
For locations where limiting noise is a key requirement, the Relcross Von Duprin 99QEL features motorised latches rather than magnetic solenoids which can be noisy and distracting, especially when the door is in constant use for normal egress.
The QEL can also be quickly and easily configured to electronically retract the latch for an extended period of time to allow free entry, a convenient alternative to mechanical dogging. In the event of an emergency the touch bar can be used independently and without any delay.
As a further safety feature, the touch bar is covered with a luminous material to provide guidance to people trying to escape from the enclosure if the lighting fails or vision is inhibited by smoke.
Von Duprin 99QEL heavy-duty escape devices from Relcross are ANSI-tested and CE marked so they are the ideal choice for escape doors and emergency exits that are in everyday use as a regular exit.
They are robustly engineered to deal with heavy traffic on single or double doors. A wide range of trim and electrical accessories is available for controlled access/egress situations including access control, locks and handles. This allows building managers to balance the sometimes conflicting requirements for quick and obstruction-free escape in an emergency with the need for security from the outside.
