The Bollards International range of quality street furniture includes bollards, post & rail, post & panel assemblies, cycle stands and other street-furniture items. This significant product range represents an affordable and technically superior option when compared with items manufactured by more traditional cast iron methods.
The unique Envirocast manufacturing process used, combines the high strength of steel with the moulding versatility and weathering performance of environmentally friendly polyurethane elastomers. This gives rise to products requiring little or no maintenance. Where steel is involved in the process, the company uses only the best quality, from a choice of 3mm or 5mm thick visually inspected steel tubes for the central core of both bollards and post & rail systems. Dependent on the nature of the design, a variety of mould types are used. Currently in use are GRP, polypropylene, epoxy and metal. High performance polyurethane is used to mould the bollard shape around the central steel core. This unique environmentally-friendly polymer has been developed over a four-year period and has resulted in a product with high impact strength, excellent mouldability and good adhesion to steel. It also has good adhesion to polyurethane paints ensuring that the final item exhibits excellent long term weathering properties.
One recent project undertaken by Bollards International has involved installation of the company’s Envirocast Trinity Post & Rail system. This range is ideally suited to coastal locations and was specified by Prestatyn local authority and contractors engaged on the refurbishment of the promenade and car parking areas. Additional works involved the Bollards International in-house design team working on the modification of the rail system and also an entrance gate and signage design. Additional ongoing services include installation by fully trained and CRB-checked teams.
