At the Specialists Awards 2012, Chris Sedgeman Scaffolding Ltd picked up the prestigious Access and Scaffolding Award for its innovative use of Combisafe’s UBIX® temporary roof system at the £35 million Heartlands Project in West Cornwall.

Held on Tuesday 20th March at the Hilton Hotel on London’s Park Lane, the Specialists Awards honour the finest specialist contractors and construction projects in the industry. In a fiercely contested category, and up against six exceptional candidates, Chris Sedgeman Scaffolding came out on top when the winner was announced.

The award recognises the company’s proactive methods, professional attitude and exceptional scaffold applications – on both internal and external elevations – at the Heartlands regeneration. During the development, conversion and restoration of the disused Cornish tin mine, the company utilised its extensive experience of UBIX® to provide a unique and unusually shaped application at the Robinson’s Shaft site.

Run by Construction News, the event attracted nearly 600 of the country’s leading specialist contractors to celebrate another exceptional year in construction. With the quality of this year’s entries exceeding judges’ expectations, the award for Chris Sedgeman Scaffolding further enhances Combisafe’s reputation for delivering the highest standards of preventative and protective systems for the construction industry.
