Tasked with helping Newcastle United FC select a cost effective, highly efficient lighting solution for use in the Chairman’s Suite, Collingwood Lighting has provided a whole collection of its LED lighting products, from its Collingwood and Halers ranges.

The installation of decorative lighting was high on the agenda for NUFC – as such, Collingwood’s LED downlights were fitted across the ceiling to create a functional yet decorative lighting effect – this was made possible due to the set up of the product itself. Machined from aluminium and comprising of five individual LED spot lights supplied in a cool white, the DL530 helped accomplish a contemporary look and feel.

In keeping with the modern look and feel, Collingwood’s Halers H2 LEDs were specified in neutral white and installed across the ceilings to achieve a warmer look and feel that would harmonise the lighting of the DL530’s. What’s more, the H2 was supplied with a dimmable circuit, which allowed the mood lighting to be altered according to the type of event taking place in the suite.

Additionally, a series of Haler’s H4 FF LEDs were fitted in the ceiling above the escalator and stairs on levels one to four. Specified in neutral white 4000k, which helps to replicate sunlight. The H4 FF is adjustable and allows the angle of the light to be adjusted to form a direct downlight that can spread across a specific area.

Eddie Rutherford, Facilities Manager from Newcastle FC said: “Collingwood Lighting’s LEDs were chosen to achieve the right mixture of decorative and functional lighting effectively - I’m really happy with the products supplied as I feel they have achieved this perfectly.”

He continued: “We were looking for a low maintenance solution that was not only highly efficient but also cost effective – the LEDs supplied achieved all of these needs, making them the ideal lighting solution given the nature of the installation too.”

Darryl Moulson, Key Account Manager for Collingwood Lighting commented: “Due to our advanced technical knowledge, we were able to advise on the suitability of each product and how it could be used within the scheme to achieve the lighting requirements set out at the start. We worked closely with NUFC during the project to ensure they were happy with the products every step of the way.”
