Polypress brings together a multilayer composite pipe with robust press fittings to create an integrated system which is ideally suited to hot and cold water supply and heating applications. Permanent joints are made simply by pressing the Polypress pipes and fittings together, which helps reduce installation times and provides reliable joint integrity without the need for solvents, solder or naked flames.
“This re-accreditation for Polypress is excellent news,” comments Polypipe Terrain Product Manager, Steve Bishop. “It demonstrates that, 5 years on from the original WRAS accreditation, Polypress is still able to satisfy all the requirements of potable water applications in a wide variety of different building types. Polypress has been thoroughly proven on projects many times over and this re-accreditation for the next five years means that our customers can continue specifying the system with complete confidence”
Available in pipe diameters between 14mm and 75mm, the Polypress system includes a wide variety of fittings such as bends, tees, couplings, adaptors and reducers and it can be coupled easily to existing traditional water systems. The latest WRAS accreditation also includes the new 75mm diameter range and PPSU fittings for diameters over 32mm, which offer cost savings against traditional brass fittings.
The PEX/AL/PEX pipe construction combines the flexibility of plastic with the stability of metal and allows long runs to be used without need for additional fittings. Its light weight makes it easy to transport and install, while the smooth internal pipe surface provides excellent resistance to scale build-up and enhances flow properties
