Hanson Structherm has received updated British Board of Agrément (BBA) and new Kinnell ECO approval, assuring customers that they are specifying a high quality product when they choose one of the company’s external wall insulation (EWI) systems.

The BBA certification means that specifiers are choosing a product that meets the rigorous criteria set out by the BBA and ‘is fit for purpose’.

Hanson Structherm has certification under Product Sheet 1 (Heavy Duty systems with dash aggregate finishes), Product Sheet 2 (Heavy Duty systems with acrylic finishes), Product Sheet 3 (High Build systems with silicone finishes for buildings over 18 metres high) and Product Sheet 4 (High Build systems with acrylic or silicone finishes for buildings under 18 metres).

The comprehensive assessment involves laboratory testing, on-site evaluations, production inspections and system auditing. It demonstrates that Hanson Structherm’s EWI systems can be used to improve thermal performance, meet all fire resistance criteria and, with appropriate care, will remain effective for at least 30 years.

In addition, the company has received certification which allows it to supply both its EWI and Structural External Wall Insulation (SEWI) systems under Kinnell ECO’s insured QANW guarantee scheme. This provides long-term financial assurance and a guarantee of quality to customers who have their homes refurbished under the Government’s Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme.

Brian Monaghan, Hanson Structherm’s national sales manager, said: “Our systems provide a sustainable solution for the refurbishment of solid wall and non-traditional housing and high rise blocks.

“The updates to our long-held BBA certification and the new one from Kinnell ECO provide our customers with peace of mind that they are using a high quality product that is fit for purpose.”
