Junckers, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of solid hardwood floors, have had an incredibly successful year in the UK, despite the current harsh economic conditions.
The company has seen an impressive increase in year-on-year sales figures – 15% up on flooring products and an amazing 36% up on oils & lacquers.
The success is in part due to ongoing efforts to improve and update all services and production, part of a long-term, world-wide strategy.
In order to offer a high level of service to their customers, Junckers have implemented several changes to update their customer service department, by integrating with their Danish counterpart. From the beginning of October onwards, all enquiries will be dealt with directly by a dedicated team in the Køge head office, which will give customers a quick and consistent service with regular production and delivery updates.
The new customer services team will be closely linked to the production department and effective lines of communication between the two means better, faster service to customers, in effect, bringing them closer to the production line.
“The market is changing and the challenging economic conditions mean companies have to take a long, hard look at how they run their businesses,” says Steve Maltby, Managing Director, Junckers Ltd.
“We are constantly trying to improve the way we work to be more effective as a business and maximise productivity. Today’s technology has enabled us to centralise our customer services world-wide, which has in turn allowed us to improve our manufacturing capabilities further.
“First and foremost, we want to offer a better overall service to our customers and this will be made possible by gathering all our competence in one place. At the same time, this gives us the opportunity to plan our production better and to ensure optimal logistics for deliveries.”
