Minster Insulation and Dry Lining has achieved the world's leading environmental management standard, ISO 14001.
The standard is fast becoming a pre-requisite in the building distribution sector and all of Minsters’ 18 branches are now fully accredited, meaning that environmental performance is emphasised in all business operations.
As part of its sustainability strategy, Minster began demonstrating its environmental commitment all throughout the course of 2012 by making significant changes in its business processes. These included branches moving to dual recycling and general waste skip change schedules in order to reduce waste input to landfill.
Hippo bags were also installed in toilet cisterns to reduce the amount of water used in flushing, as well as staff being trained on environmental performance and standards.
Managing Director of Minster, Chris Whitlock said: “We are completely committed to run a fully sustainable business operation while minimising any negative environmental impact.
"Achieving ISO 14001 accreditation sends out a message to our customers and suppliers that we are operating responsibly and determined to maintain environmentally high standards.”
The specialist distributor is now focused on improving its environmental credentials as new targets for 2013 have already been set and are beginning to be implemented throughout its network of branches.
