Specflue, a leading UK supplier of renewable heat products and flue systems, has opened its new northern depot in Gilcar Way, Castleford, West Yorkshire.
Managing Director, Jeremy Fry and his wife Jan who is also Purchasing Director for the multi million pound turnover business, visited the depot to join in the celebrations as the doors opened for business and welcomed its first customers.
Jeremy commented: “This is an important strategic step in the company’s growth and today marks the culmination of a year’s planning, to get Specflue an outlet in the north that will enable us to service our customers based from the Midlands to the Scottish Border.”
“We chose Castleford as it is a pivotal point in the UK with excellent transport links. Our new depot can, not only be easily accessed by our customers, but also allows us - through out fleet of new service vehicles - to fulfil our next day delivery service pledge.
The depot is just off junction 31 of the M62 and, as well as creating 12 new jobs for local people, provides 20,000 square feet of warehouse space, a trade counter and ample customer parking.
The Stove Yard in Cheshire is one of the UK's leading retailers of wood burning stoves and multi-fuel stoves. As an existing customer, it is delighted that the new northern depot has opened. General Manager, Russell explained: “Having a Specflue driver delivering our order, rather than a carrier will mean we get a more efficient and reliable service. However, the biggest benefit for us will be that, now they are closer, a much better relationship will be created with Specflue overall.”
Jeremy added: “This is just the start of Specflue’s presence in the north. Over the coming months, we are intending to increase our number of service vehicles significantly. There are also plans in the pipeline, to have a further base in Livingston, West Lothian that can service most of mainland Scotland.”
