Sustainable Building Solutions (SBS), part of the Travis Perkins Group, is reinforcing its support of the Green Deal by offering builders, contractors and installers a unique ten day New Entrant Green Deal Domestic Advisor (Assessor) course.
The course, provided exclusively through SBS’ official partner PPL Training, is the most comprehensive on the market; not only offering an initial six day course to become a Domestic Energy Assessor, but a further four days to enable delegates to qualify as a Green Deal Domestic Advisor (Assessor).
The course has the added benefit of ensuring all five required domestic energy assessment properties are arranged as part of the City & Guilds full portfolio build.
Eimear Montague, Sustainability Development Manager for SBS, said: “SBS has identified that comprehensive training should include practical guidance in a working environment as well as classroom based activity. Some Green Deal and Energy Assessor courses only take attendees through the classroom based methodology, leaving them to find suitable properties and allocate time to undertake the required property visits and domestic energy assessment separately."
Lee Adkins of Corona Electrics who attended a SBS training course commented: “I recently attended PPL Training’s Green Deal Domestic Advisor course and found the training delivery and lecturer knowledge to be excellent. The role play scenario assessment, which involved replicating the situation between a customer and a Green Deal Advisor, was covered in great detail which was a huge help. This made the training more interesting than a conventional training course and PPL’s experience within the renewables, sustainable building and energy assessing markets really showed.
“I now have every confidence I could now assess a domestic property in accordance with Green Deal rules as I look forward to the full Green Deal launch.”
SBS was created in 2010 to provide builders, architects and specifiers with energy efficient and compliant solutions which are applicable for new-build, retrofit and repair and maintenance markets.
