Kingspan Light + Air, the specialist provider of blended solutions which support increased comfort and safety in buildings, has achieved IFC certification for the installation and commissioning of smoke control systems – a mark of assurance which helps to raise industry standards by ensuring the quality and competency of installers.
Awarded in February 2019, IFC certification (Certificate number: IFCC 3186) provides independent verification that Kingspan Light + Air conforms to the installation and commissioning requirements of IFCC scheme DI19, “Requirements for Contractors Installing Smoke Control Systems”.
Following a rigorous assessment and inspection process, Kingspan Light + Air has successfully demonstrated its conformance with the required quality control system and competence with fire strategy, system design, installation and maintenance.
Jonathan Dore, Commercial Director, Kingspan Light + Air, comments: “We have long strived to operate to only the most robust quality levels – developing in-house processes that have enabled us to establish a highly experienced engineering team that has extensive expertise in relation to smoke management. Achieving third party certification by IFC Certification who are a third party accredited body, gives the market further confidence and peace of mind when partnering with Kingspan Light + Air to safeguard a life safety system and ensure it is fit for purpose.”
The installer certification complements IFC Certification Ltd’s range of product certification schemes which are designed to provide confidence that fire protection is installed properly, to good standards of workmanship and within the scope of approval for the specified product. Certificated installers are subject to independent auditing of their office and site-based activities combined with competency assessment of operatives and supervisors.
