AkzoNobel is making it easier for decorators to create a finish to be proud of, following the launch of two ranges of quick-drying, water-based trim coatings under its Dulux Trade and Armstead Trade brands.
The new Dulux Trade water-based range consists of Quick Dry Undercoat, Gloss and Satinwood coatings. Using state-of-the-art alkyd emulsion technology, these finishes deliver improved flow and greater durability that, for the first time, matches the performance decorators normally associate with solvent-based products.
This is particularly evident with Quick Dry Gloss, which is highly flexible and crack resistant, delivering a smooth, high-sheen top coat finish. Plus, with double the open time and a longer wet edge, application of the Quick Dry trim range is also easier than with their solvent-based counterparts.
Dulux Trade Quick Dry Undercoat, Gloss and Satinwood are the latest in a series of new product launches and improvements in 2014 that focus on helping decorators achieve the highest standard of quality and professionalism.
Giving decorators an option for when budgets are tight, AkzoNobel has also launched a new water-based range for recently launched brand, Armstead Trade. This comprises Armstead Trade Quick Dry Gloss and Quick Dry Satin, two products designed to give a quality, durable finish, with good flow and application properties, but at a lower price point.
Developed using acrylic quick-dry technology, the Armstead Trade range delivers lasting whiteness compared to equivalent solvent-based products, which yellow much faster. The quicker drying properties of the new trim range will also allow decorators to complete jobs faster, minimising any disruption to their clients.
Commenting on the launch of the two new ranges, Jenny Hall, Head of Professional Brands at AkzoNobel, explained: “We’re committed to improving the performance of our products across all our brands through innovation, and this is evident in our latest investment. With the launch of our Quick Dry new ranges, we’ve dramatically improved the finish and application properties of water-based paints across the market.
“Using our market leading Dulux Trade Quick Dry range, appliers can benefit from a water-based product that finishes like a solvent based solution and dries quickly, with minimal impact on the environment. While the Armstead Trade Quick Dry range will give a quality finish that retains its whiteness for longer and is ideal for when budgets are limited.”
To support the launch of its two ranges, AkzoNobel will be running a series of promotions across selected stores.
