Alliance Lighting Simply Shines at Arc Show 2012

Alliance Lighting's 2012 follow-up to its launch at last year’s ARC Show was a resounding success.

Show footfall was up on last year and the quality and quantity of visitors to the Alliance Stand proved that ARC attracts more than just the lighting industry.

The Alliance Stand offered a full ‘hands on’ experience where visitors could see and feel the products for themselves and importantly, speak directly to the manufacturer’s of each range.

Representing Technilum, Filix, Vode, ALM, Martini and Whitegoods, Alliance provide a one-stop-shop for all lighting requirements, offering the finest commercial and residential lighting and controls alongside design support, sales and service for the design community, their clients and contractors.

Making its’ debut was the Martini Ego, which proved to be great attraction for both its indoor and outdoor suitability.

Claudia Franchi from Martini S.p.A in Italy comments “for Martini, this has been the first year and we are glad to be part of the Alliance family. Family is the best word to describe the kind of atmosphere and feeling that you got on the stand; a group of incredibly skilled people with a great passion for Light. We will definitely be at the show again next year!”

Tom Warton, President of Vode Lighting in the US, was excited to be discussing a new library project with a UK Architect on the first day of the show, no doubt prompted by the large Vode rail mounted discreetly but proudly across the rear of the stand wall. “We're starting to feel a lot more connected to the UK and EU market thanks to the extraordinary efforts of Alliance Lighting and participating at the ARC show"

Benoit Saes, Director of Technilum in France confirms his belief that “the ARC Show is a good way to cement our business in the UK and in other countries. It’s always a pleasure to share views on international development with the experienced people of Alliance Lighting”

Technilum were fortunate to have the opportunity to discuss their Technical Rail system with senior engineers from Network Rail. This unique system allows a much greater functionality than normal lighting columns. Apart from Lighting, the aluminium extruded columns can incorporate signage, seating, public address equipment, traffic lights or more or less anything else you can think of.

Technilum's systems have even been used in 'goal post' format to carry overhead power lines for a tram system throughout whole cities (as well as lighting!). All very interesting news for a rail engineer.

Whitegoods exhibited their plaster in 60mm downlight with Xicato module and their latest product development, the unique ULM (Universal LED Module) was shortlisted in the Arc innovation award Category.

Filix products; the Powerline and Flex proved to be very versatile and not only attracted great interest on the stand but also at the well attended Alliance After Show party.

Co-hosted by Martini S.p.A., invited guests from the architectural and lighting world were greeted with chilled Martini’s (naturally) upon arrival and were encouraged to use their creative side and play around with the lights while the images were captured using a ten second long exposure. Images were then projected on a large screen in the party area for everyone to see. It certainly brought out the competitive side of the assembled lighting designers, who vied to create evermore creative and outrageous images. Of course, there are some we can't print!!

Lighting Design International, Mindseye Lighting, GIA, Long and Kentish and BDP to name but a few, all rose to the challenge. Who knew there were so many creative lighting designers out there!
