Anesco, the UK’s leading energy efficiency solutions company, is celebrating after being awarded the prestigious Investors in People Gold Standard.
The Reading-based company, which currently employs 81 people, joins only 3.2% of organisations in the UK to ever have achieved Gold accreditation.
Anesco is also one of only a handful of organisations in the history of Investors in People to achieve gold in their first assessment, without first having worked through the bronze and silver standards.
Investors in People is a national quality standard which recognises companies that have a strong commitment to staff development and training. Awards are given to well-run organisations which demonstrate good management practice, with a strong emphasis on best practice, people management and development.
For Anesco, which works with homeowners, local authorities and businesses looking to reduce their carbon emissions, the award is just the latest in a line of achievements. The firm was recently recognised as one of the UK’s fastest growing companies and is the seventh fastest growing cleantech company in Europe.
“We are very proud to have earned such a prestigious award,” commented Anesco CEO Adrian Pike.
“At Anesco, we pride ourselves on being strongly commitment to our values and our people. Professional training and development is a top priority and we strive to ensure that all our employees reach their full potential, with a clear route for career progression.”
Anesco was awarded the gold standard following a rigorous assessment process, which included lengthy interviews with a large number of staff from across the company. During the assessment conducted by IIP representatives, all areas of Anesco’s policy and procedures came under intense scrutiny, including the appraisal system, personal development and training, management styles and techniques.
John Telfer, managing director of Inspiring Business Performance Ltd (IBP), the organisation that delivers Investors in People for London and the South, said: “By achieving Investors in People Gold at first assessment, Anesco’s commitment to excellent people management has paid off. As a result, they have proved that they are among the best Investors in People organisations in the country and have set an example for others to follow”.
Investors in People is a national quality standard which defines good practice for improving an organisation's performance through its people. Developed in 1990 by a partnership of leading businesses and national organisations in the UK, the standard helps organisations to improve performance and realise objectives through the management and development of their people.
