On the back of launching a new website - buildingboards.co.uk - which is the first marketing initiative in a new brand development plan, RCM has announced gaining BBA 14/5109 Technical Approval for Y-wall external sheathing board.
As a major UK supplier of building boards and facades, with a comprehensive range for all applications - RCM recognise the importance of providing quality certified products which have been rigorously tested, to meet the demands of a challenging construction industry.
Y-wall is a calcium silicate based fibre cement building board, offering excellent fire properties as well as high levels of dimensional stability, even in exposed conditions. Y-wall is used primarily as an external sheathing or fire rated building board. Used extensively on both metal and timber frame structures, the product is applied behind all types of facade solutions, as well in floors and roofs offering a non-combustible classification.
Y-wall can be cut, drilled and nailed offering many of the properties required by frame and cladding contractors.
