Birtley Building Products Ltd is pleased to announce that it has acquired the business and assets of Expamet Building Products Ltd, to further expand its offering to the construction industry.
Birtley Building Products Ltd, based in Birtley, County Durham, offers a wide range of lintels, doors, balconies and galvanising services. Expamet, currently based in Hartlepool, is a leading manufacturer of builders’ metalwork and plasterers’ accessories.
Expamet’s operations and employees will be transferred to Birtley’s current facilities, and the two will be combined to create a larger and more broadly-based building products business.
Graeme Miller, Managing Director of Birtley Building Products, said:
“The respective product ranges of Birtley and Expamet are highly complementary, and we are very excited to be combining the two. The Expamet brand has a very strong heritage, and we are looking forward to driving it forward once again, from the larger and stronger platform that the combination creates.
“The prospects of both businesses are greatly enhanced by this deal, and we extend a warm welcome all our new Expamet colleagues.”
