Bison Manufacturing Ltd, the UK’s leading precast concrete manufacturer, has become one of the first British precast companies to receive CE Marking approval for its precast concrete products.
The scheme ensures that products used in construction projects in Europe meet the required harmonised European standard or European Technical Assessment for that product type, allowing architects and specifiers to select Bison products with even more confidence.
CE Marking is a key part of the Construction Products Regulations (CPR) scheme, which became mandatory from 1st July 2013. Bison’s acceptance onto the scheme marks the company as one of the early adopters in the UK.
Auditors visited Bison’s production facilities at Swadlincote and Uddingston to assess products manufactured at both sites. Bison’s factory production controls were observed and products rigorously tested, resulting in the company’s hollowcore and reinforced concrete products meeting the harmonised EN standards for precast products.
