Radio Communications provider Brentwood Communications is delighted to announce they are supplying two-way radios to the construction team working on the ‘Walkie Talkie’ building in London.
The distinctive 38 floor building on Fenchurch Street is aptly named because its shape reminds people of a two-way radio.
Once completed, the building in the capital’s finance and insurance district will house London’s tallest public park. These Botanical gardens known as 'Skygarden' will occupy the top three floors.
Essex-based Brentwood Communications has won the contract to supply radios to the personnel involved in the building process until 2014. The teams working on the plumbing, ventilation, electrical, mechanical and water supply for the building all benefit from the robust and reliable radio communications provided by Brentwood.
The contract is for the installation of DP3400 digital radios and a repeater with a strategically placed antenna to provide coverage across the whole building. The digital radios allow users to make private and group calls at the touch of a button.
Two-way radios from Brentwood Communications guarantee 100% coverage at all times as they benefit from the latest advances in technology. One of the main features is Lone Worker, a feature that helps monitor the safety of staff. It works by the radio emitting a bleep and the user responding by pressing a button on the radio. If the user fails to acknowledge the bleep, their radio will automatically send an alert to the other radios or a monitoring station.
Brentwood stocks all radios and accessories at their head office in the South East. Whether customers need to hire or buy the most up-to-date radio equipment, Brentwood can meet all their urgent requirements.
James Miller, Managing Director of Brentwood Communications said: “We are very proud to be associated with such an impressive construction project in our country’s capital. The building itself will be a marvel once it is completed and we look forward to viewing the final structure.”
Established in 1975, Brentwood Communications employs 16 people and has offices in London and Essex. The company has supplied equipment for an impressive portfolio of construction projects including the prestigious Shard building and Heron Tower in London.
