The generous company launched its charity partnership with Cancer Research UK in June 2009 and has been continually fundraising at its head office at Birch Coppice Business Park in Tamworth and its Tyseley and Bristol sites ever since. Staff at the Bristan Group’s offices in Dordon have got involved with a range of fundraising including Pink Days to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Donation Stations to collect stock for their local charity shop, taking part in their local Race for Life and Run10K events and even organised their own charity talent show titled ‘Bristan’s Got Talent’ which raised thousands of pounds for Cancer Research UK’s important work. Hannah Bird, Bristan Group’s Charity Champion said: "We have thoroughly enjoyed our partnership with Cancer Research UK and have had so much fun raising money for the cause. The highlight for me had to be Bristan’s Got Talent, as so many of our employees from across the 3 sites were involved in the event, from designing the event programme to performing on stage!” As well as a range of employee fundraising activities, this fantastic sum has been raised through matched-funding donations from its parent company Masco Europe. Karl Gorton, Corporate Controller, Masco Europe added “At Masco Europe, we are proud of the fund raising efforts of all our employees and our money-match scheme is a sign of our commitment to all such efforts. We are very pleased to match the amounts raised by Bristan Group for Cancer Research UK.” The generous Tamworth company also provided additional funding to cover the printing costs for a new Cancer Research UK leaflet about vital research projects undertaken at the Cancer Research UK Centre in Birmingham, which specialises in research concerning DNA repair and the link between viruses and some cancers as well as focussing on cancers of the bladder, leukaemia and children’s cancers Miranda Williams, Cancer Research UK’s South Staffordshire & West Midlands representative said “We have really enjoyed working with Bristan Group and supporting their imaginative fundraising activities over the past 2 years.
